LANGUAGE COURSE FOR A-LEVEL SPANISH

In collaboration with sixth-form Spanish teachers in Germany, a learning programme has been developed to meet the very specific needs of students in the sixth form (grades 11, 12 and 13 in the German school system).

These lessons are given in addition to the intensive course in 10 extra lessons per week and can be combined with the language trip for young people. Students who book the course “Preparation for Spanish Baccalaureate” live with other participants in apartments or host families.

PREPARATION FOR THE D.E.L.E EXAM

The D.E.L.E. course includes 10 lessons of 45 minutes/week in addition to the intensive course. The number of participants is limited to 2-3 people.

The Academia Atlántika prepares the students in a 2 or 4 week course for the official D.E.L.E. exam, which is organized by the Cervantes- Institute in cooperation with the University of Salamanca. It is possible to obtain 3 official diplomas “Spanish as a Foreign Language”, which are recognized worldwide: Certificado Inicial, Diploma Básico and Diploma Superior.

The average duration of the exam is 3.5 hours. A written and oral exam is taken, divided into 4 sections: Text Comprehension, Written Expression, Listening Comprehension, Grammar and Vocabulary. In this course, the language student is prepared for the exams for this diploma with the appropriate teaching material. The requirements are relatively high, so that a good or advanced knowledge of the language is necessary when taking this course.

BUSINESS SPANISH

The Business Spanish course or “Certificado de los Negocios” includes in addition to the intensive course 10 lessons á 45 minutes/week. The number of participants is limited to 2 – 3 persons.

Among other things, the students learn business vocabulary and how to conduct written correspondence. Special articles from the press as well as the evaluation of radio and television broadcasts are used to understand international economic contexts. If the student wishes to take the “Certificado de Español de los Negocios” exam, he or she can be specifically prepared for it. This diploma is issued by the Cámara de Comercio of Spain and is recognized in Europe in all business sectors. The diploma is especially important for students who wish to take up a job in the Spanish-speaking world or who work in business companies that maintain trade relations with Spain or Latin America.
Exams are held four times a year. These courses are also open to students who do not wish to take an exam. All levels are offered.

SPANISH LANGUAGE COURSE FOR TEACHERS

In addition to the intensive course, the “Language course for teachers” comprises 10 lessons of 45 minutes per week. The number of participants is limited to 2 – 3 people. This course is offered to Spanish teachers who wish to improve the pedagogical and didactic methods and techniques necessary to teach Spanish as a foreign language in the best possible way.

The student will be familiarized with the latest teaching methods and will be given support in the preparation of new work material tailored to the specific needs of their students.
Another goal is for the language student to expand his knowledge of the socio-economic and cultural context of Spain.
